Uptick in demand lifts mentha oil futures by 0.28%

Amid upsurge in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices were up by 0.28 per cent to Rs 858.50 per kg in futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April went up by Rs 2.40, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 858.50 per kg in a business turnover of 120 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in far-month May was trading higher by Rs 1.20, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 868 per kg in 29 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by participants due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid restricted supplies from producing regions attributed to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
