Uptick in demand lifts mentha oil futures by 0.32%

Mentha oil prices edged up by 0.32 per cent to Rs 1,866 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions amid pick up in demand at domestic spot market against restricted supplies.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December month rose by Rs 5.90, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 1,866 per kg in business turnover of 157 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in January 2018 was trading higher by 40 paise, or 0.02 per cent to Rs 1,891 per kg in 29 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions built up by participants due to upsurge in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
