Amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil rose by 0.44 per cent to Rs 916 per kg in futures trading today as traders created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May month rose by Rs 4, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 916 per kg in business turnover of 46 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June month contracts edged up by Rs 3.90, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 902 per kg in 18 lots.

Traders attributed the rise in mentha oil futures to fresh positions built up by traders following pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
