Uptick in demand lifts mentha oil futures by 1.89%

Mentha oil prices moved up by 1.89 per cent to Rs 1,495 per kg in futures trading today as participants raised bets on the back of rising demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November rose by Rs 27.70, or 1.89 per cent to Rs 1,495 per kg in business turnover of 668 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in December gained Rs 26.60, or 1.79 per cent to Rs 1,510 per quintal in 205 lots.

Analysts said expanding of positions by traders following pick up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market against restricted supplies from Chandausi, mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
