Urad, arhar slide on fall in demand

Prices of urad and arhar declined by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on fall in demand from retailers against adequate stocks position.

Traders said easing demand from retailers against ample stocks position mainly led to the decline in urad and arhar prices.

In the national capital, urad eased to Rs 5,150-6,600 against last close of Rs 5,300-6,800 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,600-5,700, Rs 5,700-6,200 and Rs 6,100-6,300 per quintal, respectively.

Arhar and its dal dara variety also weakened by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,900 and Rs 5,800-7,600 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small Rs 4,000-4,300, bold Rs 4,050-4,400, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,500-5,000, best quality Rs 4,600-5,100, Malka local Rs 5,000-5,200, best Rs 5,100-5,300, Moth Rs 3,250-3,650, Arhar Rs 3,900, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 5,800-7,600.

Gram Rs 5,600-6,700, Gram dal (local) Rs 6,900-7,200, best quality Rs 7,300-7,400, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,700, Rajdhani Rs 2,700, Rajma Chitra Rs 7,400-10,200, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,600-10,200, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,600-5,800, Peas white Rs 2,500-2,525 and green Rs 2,700-2,800.
