Urad, its dal remain up on rising demand

In restricted activities, urad and its dal prices were up by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on rising demand from retailers.

However, other pulses traded in a narrow range on little activities and pegged at last levels.

Traders said besides rising demand from retailers, tight stocks positions and fall in supplies from producing regions mainly kept urad and its dal prices higher.

In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local rose further by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,900-7,500 and Rs 6,500-6,600 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,600-7,100 and Rs 7,000-7,200 per quintal.

Urad Rs 5,900-7,500, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 6,500-6,600, Urad best Rs 6,600-7,100, Dhoya Rs 7,000-7,200, Moong Rs 5,400-5,600, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,900-6,100, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,500-7,000 and best quality Rs 7,000-7,200.

Masoor small Rs 4,600-4,900, bold Rs 4,650-5,000, Dal Masoor local Rs 5,100-5,600, best quality Rs 5,200-5,700, Malka local Rs 5,500-5,700, best Rs 5,600-5,800, Moth Rs 3,850-4,250, Arhar Rs 4,500, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,400-8,200.

Gram Rs 6,000-6,500, Gram dal (local) Rs 7,100-7,400, best quality Rs 7,500-7,600, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,700, Rajdhani Rs 2,700, Rajma Chitra Rs 7,400-10,200, Kabuli Gram small Rs 10,000-10,300, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,600-5,800, Peas white Rs 2,700-2,725 and green Rs 2,900-3,000.
