Urad, masoor strengthen on rising demand

Amid rising local demand and restricted arrivals from producing regions, urad and masoor prices rose up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today.

Marketmen said the rise in the prices of select pulses was mostly attributed to rising demand from local parties and tight arrivals from producing regions.

In the national capital, urad edged up to Rs 5,000-5,500 from previous level of Rs 4,850-5,400 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best and dhoya in line with general trend, were up by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,200-6,400, Rs 6,450-7,050 and Rs 6,700-7,100 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small and bold rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,200-5,400 and Rs 5,200-5,500 per quintal, respectively. Masoor dal local and best quality too rose by a similar margin to Rs 6,000-6,100 and Rs 6,100-6,200 per quintal, respectively.
 

Following are today's pulses rates per quintal:

Urad 5,000-5,500, Urad Chilka (local) 6,200-6,400, best 6,450-7,050, Dhoya 6,700-7,100, Moong 6,200-7,500, Dal Moong Chilka local 7,300-7,800, Moong Dhoya local 7,200-7,500 and best quality 8,000-8,100.

Masoor small 5,200-5,400, bold 5,200-5,500, Dal Masoor local 6,000-6,100, best quality 6,100-6,200, Malka local 5,550-5,850, best 5,750-5,850, Moth 4,700-5,200, Arhar 4,650-4,750, Dal Arhar Dara 6,200-6,400.

Gram 2,950-3,700, Gram Dal (local) 3,900-4,100, best quality 4,000-4,100, Besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,540, Rajdhani 1,540, Rajmah Chitra 7,000-10,000, Kabli Gram small 4,000-6,600,dabra 2,700-2,800, imported 4,700-5,100, Lobia 4,200-5,800,Peas white 2,950-3,000 and green 3,000-3,100.
