Urad, moong rise on uptick in demand

Prices of urad and moong rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale market today on pick up in demand from retailers.

Other prices moved in a narrow range in scattered deals and pegged at previous levels.

Marketmen uptick in demand from retailers led to rise in urad and moong prices.

Trading activity remained thin in view of tight fund position following the government scrapping high-denomination notes to flush out black money.

In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,200-8,200 and Rs 7,500-7,600 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 7,600-8,100 and Rs 8,000-8,300 per quintal.
 

Moong and its dal chilka local also rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,200-5,700 and Rs 5,700-5,900 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,300-6,800 and Rs 6,800-7,000 per quintal.
