Firm conditions developed at the wholesale market as prices of urad and other pulses rose up to Rs 400 per quintal on increased buying by stockists on the back of rising demand from retailers.
Marketmen said increased buying by stockists following pick up in demand from retailers against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in urad and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, urad moved up to Rs 6,850-7,200 from previous level of Rs 6,550-7,000 per quintal. Its dal chilka local,best quality and dhoya were up by Rs 300 each to Rs 7,850-8,050,Rs 8,000-8,600 and Rs 8,400-8,900 per quintal respectively.
Moong and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,500-8,200 and Rs 8,300-8,800 per quintal. Its dal doya local and best quality enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 8,300-8,600 and Rs 9,100-9,200 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold followed suit and rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,750-5,950 and Rs 5,750-6,050 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded also rose by a similar margin to to trade at Rs 6,800-6,900 and Rs 6,900-7,000 per quintal.
Malka local and best quality followed suit and surged by Rs 400 each to Rs 7,200-7,400 and Rs 7,400-7,500 per quintal respectively.
In line with a general firm trend, moth edged up by Rs 100 to Rs 5,850-6,150 per quintal. Arhar and its dal dara variety increased by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,500-6,550 and Rs 7,850-8,150 per quintal.
Rajmah chitra went up to Rs 4,100-5,700 from previous close of Rs 4,100-5,500 and kabuli gram small variety enquired higher by Rs 100 to Rs 4,350-6,650 per quintal.
Gram, gramdal local and best quality were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,950-4,525, Rs 4,200-4,400 and Rs 4,300-4,600 per quintal respectively.
Besin Shaktibog and Rajdhani also traded higher at Rs 1,750 each per 35 kg bag respectively.
