Urban Mobility India conference to begin tomorrow in Hyderabad

Around 1,000 policy makers from India and 25 other countries will discuss issues related to transport during a three-day conference beginning tomorrow in Hyderabad, an official release said today.

Experiences in respect of various aspects of urban transport of 86 cities, including 36 foreign cities, will be presented as case studies for detailed discussion during the conference, it added.

Case studies of cities to be discussed include Boudeau and Lyan (France), Lausanne (Switzerland), Lisbon (Portugal), Gaudalajara (Mexico), Curitiba (Barzil), Bangkok (Thailand) and Santiago (Chile).

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the 'Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Expo'. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will address the conference.
 

The conference aims at promoting dissemination of information and exchange of ideas on urban transport and mobility issues and the best practices being followed in the cities across the world.

The conference is being organised jointly by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, Telangana government, and CODATU - a French Transport Institute.
