: Urban Property Ownership cards would soon be distributed to all property owners in the city, Commissioner of the survey department, V Ponnuraj, has said.
In a statement here, he said 55 per cent of work on the urban property ownership project in the city had been completed. Sixty per cent of the people have submitted their property documents. The project has received overwhelming response here than in other cities of Karnataka.
The cards would be authentic property ownership document with details of property liabilities, sketch, map, boundary, and type of ownership.

It would be made mandatory to have the cards for property transactions within the jurisdiction of the City Corporation (MCC), which would help reduce property disputes and check property tax evasion.
Each property would be given a 10 digit unique identification number. The cards would be issued only to dispute free properties, he said.
