Urs-Srikanth Gowda lead in Rally of Coimbatore 2015

The Rally of Coimbatore 2015, the second round of the FMSCI Indian Rally Championship, Leg one saw Delhi's Gaurav Gill (co-driver Musa Sherif) from Mahindra Adventure and Mysore's Lohitt V Urs (Srikanth Gowda) fight neck and neck till the former's XUV500 lost its clutch in the IRC Overall classification.

Urs-Gowda, in a Mitsubishi Evo VIII, led after the first day with a total time of one hour, three minutes, 33. 8 seconds. They led after two stages in the morning but Gill had taken the lead after the third stage.

However, Urs-Gowda emerged as the overall leaders at the end of the day.
 

Second was the Bangalore pair of Arjun Rao Aroor (Satish Rajagopal), in a Volkswagen Polo R2, one minute, 8.5 seconds behind. This was despite a rear tyre puncture that Aroor's car suffered.

Gill's teammates Amittrajit Ghosh (Ashwin Naik) were third with a timing of 01:06:11.8.

Winner in the Nashik IRC round, Team Yokohama's Rahul Kanthraj (Vivek Bhatt) emerged as the leader in the IRC 2000 class, while Hrishikesh Thackersey (Ninad Mirajgaonkar) finished second spot.

Karna Kadur (Vivek Ponnusamy), in a Volkswagen Polo, did well on the day and was fifth fastest in the overall standings.

Adith KC-Harish KN lead the FMSCI Cup category.

Out of 36 that started the rally, there were eight retirements after Leg one.
