A US airliner made an emergency landing at a New York airport today after it hit a bird following take-off but no one was injured.
The JetBlue Airways plane was heading to Palm Beach in Florida when the bird strike occurred around 9:30am, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement announcing the start of an investigation.
The plane was diverted to JFK Airport, also in New York, where it landed safely, the FAA said.
"There were no injuries reported, The aircraft took off from Westchester County Airport in While Plains, New York. The FAA will investigate," the US aviation regulator added.
