The World Muhajir Congress (WMC), a US-based group, has asked the US to suspend all financial aid to Pakistan, alleging that there has been no change in attitude of Islamabad in the fight against terrorism.

"The WMC appeal the US administration and Congress to stop giving aid or any kind of assistance to countries that hate our existence and Pakistan is no exception," it said in a memorandum submitted to Acting Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Alice G Wells yesterday.

Observing that the US is by far the biggest donor to Pakistan in terms of economic, military and financial aid, it said that Pakistans powerful security machinery, instead of utilising this support to eliminate terrorism, is supporting and providing safe havens to terrorists.

"ISIS, Taliban and Al-Qaeda are operating freely from terror sanctuaries on Pakistani soil," the memorandum alleged.

Muhajirs are Urdu-speaking people who migrated from India during partition.
