A US drone strike killed a Taliban commander and his associate today in northwest Pakistan's tribal region near the Afghan border, sources said.
The US drone fired two missiles at commander Abdullah Dawar and his associate at Noor Tangi area of tehsil Datta Khel in North Waziristan, which has long been a sanctuary for Pakistani Taliban and other militant groups.
The militants were from the Gul Bahadur group, which is blamed for carrying out attacks inside Afghanistan.
Last month, Pakistani Taliban leader Mullah Fazlullah was killed in a drone strike in Afghanistan.
