Michelle Obama has arrived in Milan on the second leg of a European trip that puts an international spin on her core initiatives including eating wisely.
The US first lady participated in a cooking demonstration today at the James Beard American Restaurant with Italian and American middle school students. On Thursday, she leads a presidential delegation to the Expo 2015 World's Fair, which focuses on food, nutrition and world hunger issues.
The trip continues Friday with a visit to US troops stationed in Vicenza. Her final stop will be Venice, where she will make cultural outings, including a visit to the award-winning US Pavilion at the Venice Biennale contemporary art show.
Mrs. Obama is traveling with her teenage daughters Malia and Sasha and her mother Marian Robinson.
