US looking Indians' welfare in American bases in Afghanistan

Ravi, in response to a question, said India has not signed any memorandum of understanding with Afghanistan for protection and welfare of Indians living their.

"Most of the Indian workers work inside US bases in Afghanistan. These bases are generally secure and the welfare aspects for these workers are looked after by the US authorities," he said.

Ravi said security agencies of Afghanistan have always extended their support to provide security to Indian workers both at the place of stay and work.

According to official figures, around 3,000 Indian workers are currently working in various construction projects in the violence-hit country. PTI MPB
