In a bizarre incident, a 19-year-old man in the US was killed instantly by his remote-controlled helicopter when it boomeranged while being flown and slashed him in the head.

According to police, Roman Pirozek was flying his model helicopter at Calvert Park on Shore Parkway in Broklyn on Thursday when it malfunctioned.

Officials said the chopper suddenly boomeranged back at Pirozek, slashing him in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe head trauma, News 12 Brooklyn reported.

Brooklyn Councilman Domenic Recchia is now trying to postpone flying electronic planes until it's determined what rules and regulations can be put in place to prevent another similar incident.

Pirozeck was a remote-controlled helicopter enthusiast and a part of the Seaview Rotary Wings Club. He graduated from the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture in Queens.
