Even as the recent climate change conference in Paris has come to an end, US President Barack Obama takes a trek across the Alaskan wilderness with wilderness expert Bear Grylls for the TV show "Running Wild".

In the episode, Obama experiences the effect of climate change first hand and urges nations and people to understand the need of the hour to work for "Mother Earth".

"Running Wild with Bear Grylls has been one of the most successful and special shows on Discovery Channel. Bringing two of the most prominent and world famous personalities makes the show an unprecedented experience for Indian viewers," Rahul Johri, EVP & GM-South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia Pacific said.

On New Year's Eve, viewers will get to see a side of the US President that they would not have seen before as Bear Grylls and Obama journey across a glacial outwash and through a dense forest on their way to Alaska famed Exit Glacier.

The one hour special is scheduled to air exclusively on Discovery Channel on December 31.

From the love for his family to his duties as the President, besides his culinary and selfie clicking skills, Obama shares it all with the viewers and Grylls.

Edward Michael "Bear" Grylls is a British adventurer, writer and television presenter. He is widely known for his television series "Man vs. Wild", originally titled "Born Survivor".

Grylls and President Obama in this Alaskan adventure explore the wilderness from wild bears to salmon and everything in between.
