The US Science Envoy will visit Pakistan from March 24 to 29 to promote science and technology in the country.
On his first trip as an envoy, Bernard Amadei will visit Islamabad and Lahore where he will meet senior- level government officials and representatives from the academic, engineering and NGO communities to promote cooperation and achieve mutual goals in science and technology.
Amadei will also meet participants in the US sponsored Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) Initiative, and the local chapter of Engineers without Borders to encourage students and practitioners to focus on engineering for sustainable development.

Since the program's inception, six of America's finest scientists have travelled to 19 countries on behalf of the US government to promote international partnerships through scientific collaboration.
Bernard Amadei is the Mortenson Endowed Chair in Global Engineering and is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Among his many distinctions, Amadei is the founding president of Engineers Without Borders and is an elected member of the US National Academy of Engineering.
