"The visit would heal the wounds inflicted on the community members following the tragedy. It would be an act of solidarity that the US state has already shown towards the community in wake of the tragic event," the AGPC said in a statement issued here.
It said the Sikhs had been a peace-loving community that had been doing a lot to the progress of the US and they had been passing through the difficult time following the attack on them at the Oak Creek Gurdwara.
"While we welcome her visit, we also want the community's contributions to the US's progress are recognised at all fronts," it said.
The private visit of Michelle is part of Obama Administration's move to reach out to the Sikh Community who were shattered by the August 5 shooting.
Six Sikh worshippers, including four Indian nationals, were killed when a white supremacist identified as Wade Michael Page went on a shooting rampage inside the Gurdwara.
