The US has said it wants to see tension reduced between India and Pakistan, but made it clear that it is for the two nations to resolve their differences bilaterally.
"We want to see the conflict and the tension reduced, that these are issues that need to be worked out between Indian and Pakistan," State Department Spokesperson John Kirby told reporters at his daily news conference.
Kirby was responding to a question on remarks made by Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's special assistance Tariq Fatemi that he was knocking the doors of the Obama administration and the US Congress to intervene in the India- Pakistan conflict.
