USA-based photographer Zeliha Ozturkkan would launch a series of exhibitions in Goa and abroad to collect funds for an NGO working for rehabilitation of victims of drug abuse.

The 57-year-old Turkey-born photographer, said that she has decided to begin this initiative on January 27 with exhibitions in Goa, the proceeds of which would be donated to Kripa Foundation's shelter at Dharavi in Mumbai.

Ozturkkan has named her exhibition 'From North to South, From Iceland to Patagonia, From Body to Soul, From Addiction to Faith'.

"We have invited nine boys from Dharavi to Goa, who are heroes after winning battle over drug addiction," she said, adding, "The exhibition will have its next legs in Turkey, Europe and USA. This would take two to three years and all the earnings will go to Kripa Foundation."

Ozturkkan, who forayed into this profession in 1977 and has travelled far and wide to click pictures, said she believes that the boys are looking for recovery from drug addiction, which is important.

"Chaotic lifestyles in the current age of technology makes us lose connection between the mind, body and soul. This causes drug addiction," she said.
