USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah will visit India next month to attend the World Economic Forum and hold bilateral meetings with Indian officials.

Rajiv Shah, the highest ranking Indian American in the Obama Administration, will be in New Delhi from November 4-5 to attend World Economic Forum (WEF) sessions related to food security and financial inclusion, moderate a panel entitled "New Pathways to Sustainability" on food and water security in India", and meet with members of the Indian private sector on a range of development issues.

"Today, the US-India partnership is harnessing the strengths and capabilities of both countries to tackle development challenges not only in India but globally," US Agency for International Development Administrator (USAID) said in a statement yesterday.

"This relationship is leveraging the expertise, innovation and resources of both the United States and India to tackle the most pressing challenges of our day, from food security and infectious disease to illiteracy, depleting energy resources and lack of access to water and sanitation," USAID said.
