Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today directed district collectors in the state to redress public grievances and improve delivery of services by incorporating information technology.

People should get better services for which information service can be used at optimum level. Besides, public participation in plantation, water conservation and sanitation should be increased she said on the second day of the Collector-SP conference here.

Raje appreciated the initiatives taken by the district administrations of Ajmer, Chittorgarh and Udaipur in launching tourism and road safety mobile apps and asked officers to work on mission mode to bring down transmission and distribution losses in their districts.

"District collectors have an important role to play in the government's target of bringing down transmission and distribution losses below 15 per cent," the Chief Minister said.

Expressing concern over the deaths of cows due to consumption of plastic bags, she said special efforts should be made to curb the use of polythene bags through public awareness campaigns.
