Use science for constructive purpose: Walia

Delhi Minister of Education, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Kiran Walia said science is said to be a double-edged weapon and it should not be used for negative purposes.

Inaugurating the state-level science exhibition, project competition under the Inspire Award Scheme organised at Thyagaraj Stadium here, Walia said the government of Delhi is committed to upgrading the quality of education and scientific knowledge of school students by providing a better atmosphere and scientific infrastructure, an official release said.

400 school participants presented scientific models giving strong messages on global warming, environment protection and use of solar energy.

Under the scheme, an award of Rs 5000 will be given to each child per school for preparing the science models.
 

Five best entries will be selected for the national-level Science Exhibition Competition by a panel of scientists nominated by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
