Police today claimed to have solved the Uttam Nagar triple murder case in which a woman and her two children were killed, with the arrest of two persons while the main accused was found to be dead.

The accused Rajesh and Gulshan, both natives of Saharanpur of Uttar Pradesh, were arrested by the police and a pair of gold ear rings of the murdered woman that were mortgaged were recovered, said Pushependra Kumar, DCP of West Delhi.

The victim Deepmala alias Deepa and her son Saksham, 10, and daughter Shally, 7, were found murdered with their throats slit at a rented accommodation of Mohan Garden in Uttam Nagar, on June 1.

Deepa's husband Amit who is an Excise Inspector reported the gruesome killing to the police. An FIR into the triple murder was registered at Uttam Nagar police station.

The police launched investigations and two teams were formed that scanned CCTV footage and analysed call details of suspected mobile numbers.

Amit told the cops that he doubted the role of his brother-in-law (Sadhoo) Deepak who was a resident of Jatav Nagar in Saharanpur.

It was also found that Deepak and his wife Madhu were having estranged relationship and Deepa was mediating to improve their relationship.

She had also threatened to report the matter with the police to put pressure on Dipak.

Police teams visited Saharanpur and came to know that Dipak was found dead near a railway track in Qutub Sher area of the district on intervening night of June 5-6.

The call details of Dipak's phone led police to Rajesh who was arrested and thoroughly investigated, said the officer.

Rajesh revealed that Deepak hatched a plan to kill Deepa and rob her house in Delhi with his and Gulshan's help.

On June 1, Deepak visited victim and allegedly killed her. After removing two rings and ear ring from deceased he was leaving when both the children came in the house. Sensing that he had been seen by them, Dipak dragged both inside the bathroom and slit their throats, said the DCP.

After committing the gruesome crime he locked the iron gate of the house and left for Saharanpur. Both arrested accused Rajesh and Gulshan who participated with Deepak in conspiracy have been arrested, he added.
