With elections in Uttar Pradesh round the corner, the central government today accorded a VIP security cover of central paramilitary commandos to BJP MP from Moradabad, Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar Singh.
Officials said a threat assessment survey of the five-time MLA's security was recently conducted by central security agencies following which the Union Home Ministry sanctioned a security cover for him.
They said Singh has been brought under the 'X' category of VIP protection and the task has been entrusted to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) which will deploy about 5-6 armed commandos with the Member of Parliament.
