BJP MLA form Ghansali constituency in Tehri, Bhim Lal Arya has been suspended from primary membership of the party on charges of misconduct.

BJP state president Tirath Singh Rawat said at a press conference today that Arya had been skipping party's activities for long time and remained absent from important party meetings. He was also ignoring party workers in his region.

Arya also skipped BJP national President Amit Shah's meeting with party leaders in Dehradun on May 3 and his suspension is being linked with this abstention, he said.

Arya has been asked to explain reasons for his activities earlier also. The Ghansali-MLA had then cited personal reasons and had promised not to repeat his mistakes, Rawat said.

However, he was suspended as there was no improvement, Rawat said.

Rawat rejected that the decision was taken as Arya had praised the previous Congress government in the state.

It was his personal thinking. But it's strange that he finds the government praise worthy when it is befriending liquor, mines, and land mafias, Rawat said.
