Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today congratulated Narendra Modi for being sworn in as the Prime Minister of India and said his government would work as a partner with the Centre in the interest of the state and the country.
In a statement, Rawat also extended his apology to the new Prime Minister for not being able to attend the swearing-in ceremony in Delhi, citing huge backlog of official work because of the model code of conduct having remained long in force in the state during the Lok Sabha polls.
Rawat expressed hope that the state government would continue to get the same cooperation from the new government at the Centre as it used to get from the earlier UPA governments.
