Ahead of the Assembly elections next year, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today launched a number of projects in his Dharchula constituency and reviewed development works in the area.

"As many as 27 projects, worth Rs 100 crore, were launched by the Chief Minister at Dharchula. He laid foundation stones of 17 projects and inaugurated 10 others," an official release here said.

Earlier, on his arrival in Dharchula late on Thursday evening, he held a meeting with senior officials to review development works going on in the district, it said.

"Work on projects already cleared should begin without delay and must be completed in a time-bound manner," the release quoted Rawat as saying.

He also asked officials concerned to start work on sanctioned road projects by October.
