Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat today launched an ecotourism circuit development and safari vehicles operation project in Pauri district saying that it would usher in progress.
Inaugurating the project in Kotdwar town of Pauri, Rawat said it would boost tourism and generate self-employment opportunities for the local youth.
"Kotdwar is known as the gateway to Garhwal, the launch of state government-run projects like this will also open its doors to development," he added.

Its main aim is to promote ecologically and culturally sustainable tourism, while also augmenting tourism-generated livelihood opportunities for local communities.
The chief minister also laid the foundation stones of development projects worth Rs 960.77 lakh and handed over cheques of Rs 2 lakh each to 200 farmers as loans at two per cent interest rate.
State Forest and Environment Minister Harak Singh Rawat said inauguration of the scheme will give a new identity to Kotdwar.
