Seventy-three people tested positive for COVID-19 in Uttarakhand on Sunday, bringing the number of cases to 317 in the state, according to a health department bulletin.
With the spike in cases, all the 13 districts of Uttarakhand have now been categorised in the orange zone, the state health department bulletin said.
Several districts, until recently, were in the green zone but with the influx of migrants from different parts of the country, the cases have seen a sudden rise.
Fifty-eight people have recovered from the infection and three COVID-19 patients died in the state, the bulletin said. According to the health department, none of the three died due to the coronavirus as they were suffering from other diseases before testing positive.
Nainital accounted for the maximum of 32 new cases, bringing the district's virus count to 117.
Almost all the cases have a travel history from outside the state, mostly from Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad.
