Uttarakhand must fully harness potential for adventure tourism and develop at least three tourist spots on the lines of Switzerland to give a boost to the sector, industry body Assocham said today.
Assocham Secretary General D S Rawatsuggested that a master plan and policy on adventure tourism be framed by the state government by roping in experts and conducting surveys.
He added that while river rafting and other water-based adventure activities are possible in many rivers, trekking, rock climbing, camping in hills and others can bring dividends in the form of increased tourist inflow and more employment opportunities for people in the state.

"So the state government should identify and develop at least three tourist spots in the state on the lines of Switzerland to give a boost to adventure tourism," he said.
