Uttarakhand seeks Central help in tourism project

Seeking Central assistance for expansion of tourism infrastructure in the state, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Dinesh Dhanai today requested the Centre to include the ropeway project between Tehri lake and New Tehri in the first phase of Swadesh Darshan Scheme.

Swadesh Darshan Scheme is being launched by Tourism Ministry to promote domestic tourism in the country.

Dhanai, who met the Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma here today said that the state government is keen to finish the ongoing tourism related infrastructure projects at the earliest to promote tourism in the state.

Today's meeting was a follow up of the earlier meetings to seek central assistance for development of tourism in Uttarakhand.
 

Sharma assured that the demands of the state government will be examined and all possible assistance will be extended to help the state of Uttarakhand for development of tourism.

Senior officials of the Ministry and State Government were also present at the meeting.
