Uttarkhand BJP today claimed that BJP leader Narendra Modi's December 15 rally in the city will be the "biggest ever in post Independence India", as the party leaders were busy campaigning in different parts of the state to drum up support for the meeting.

BJP MP and party in-charge for Uttarakhand, Radha Mohan Singh, who has been campaigning extensively across the hill state, said the people's response is overwhelming as they feel it is Modi who can provide the kind of leadership they have been looking for.

This will be the Modi's first rally in that state after he was declared BJP's prime ministerial candidate.

Singh who reviewed preparations for the rally in consultation with the committees set up for the purpose said "indications are that the rally will be the biggest ever in Independent India".

BJP leaders including former chief ministers Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri and Bhagat Singh Koshiyari besides Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah are campaigning in different parts of the state to motivate people to make the rally a grand success, he said.

Prominent party leaders will also stage a roadshow across the city tomorrow to motivate people to turn up in large numbers at Parade Ground to make Modi's "Shankhnad" rally an "unprecedented success", he said.

"Modi has become synonymous with political dignity and decency. The country has begun to repose faith in his leadership - a fact amply illustrated by the recent poll verdict in the four states," Singh said.

"Poll verdict in the four states is an indication that there is a strong wave in favour of Modi and his dream of a Congress-free India is all set to come true," he said.
