Former Gujarat chief minister Shankersinh Vaghela today said a separate secretariat should be created for the Saurashtra and Kutch region to address the "injustice" it has faced.

"Injustice has been done to Saurashtra and Kutch region and therefore a separate secretariat should be given to Rajkot for overall development of the region," Vaghela said here.

The veteran leader who recently quit the Congress and joined Jan Vikalp Party said the latter would contest all the Assembly seats in Gujarat.

"Our party does not have high command and people will select and elect the candidates and this transparent policy will help solve citizens' problems," Vaghela said.

He dismissed the allegation that his party will harm Congress' prospects and help the ruling BJP in coming elections.

"Congress' performance has been declining in every Assembly election in Gujarat. The allegations that my party would harm Congress or help BJP are baseless," he said.

"Congress is not in the position to win elections while people are not happy with the BJP government, so my party has a good chance to do well in elections," he said.

"We would not give support to any of these two political parties to form government if none could manage absolute majority, but seek unconditional support from these two parties (to form government)," Vaghela said.
