: MDMK leader Vaiko today thanked Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for the Rs 10 lakh financial assistance to the family of Murugan, who was killed in a road mishap.
Vaiko called Vijayan over phone and informed him of Tamil Nadu's gratitude over the gesture, a press release from the CM's office said here today.
"This was a model gesture taken by the Kerala government", he said.

Murugan, a milkman, had died on August 10 after medical treatment was denied to him by various hospitals citing different reasons.
Kerala chief minister has also tendered apology to the family over the incident and the state cabinet which met here yesterday had sanctioned rs 10 lakh for the education of the two minor children of the deceased.
