A total of Rs 3 crore in cash was seized from a cash van today by Indirapuram police after the four persons, claiming to be staff of a private bank, carrying it were unable to produce vaild document, a senior police official said.
At around 11 AM, Indirapuram police intercepted a cash van near the UP gate on the border of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and recovered Rs 3 crore, the official said.
Four persons, identified as Naresh Rana, Rajesh Tomar, Brijesh and driver Vinod - who claimed that they were bank staff - were detained.

During interrogation, the four told that the money belong to the bank and was to be delivered to various branches, he said.
Also Income Tax department was informed and a team of I-T officers, headed by Deputy Director Sunil Yadav, reached the police station and also interrogated them
"But the cash van staff could not reply to their queries and were unable to produce any document, following which the cash was seized and the four were allowed to go after taking their identity cards," he said.
During the day, three more cash carrying vehicles were intercepted at Vaishali cut in Indirapuram area during checking.
"The vehicles belonged to private hospitals and shopping malls. During the search, about 80 lakh in cash was found, which was released after verification," the SSP added.
