Vancouver to host new Indian film awards

British Columbia province, which would spend USD 9.5 million to host the first-ever Times of India Film Awards, is looking at the event as an economic opportunity.

The awards will be held across metro Vancouver from April 4 to 6, British Columbia Premier Christy Clark said.

Clark said that millions of people were expected to watch the Bollywood awards on television.

"This is a tremendous economic opportunity for British Columbia to reach new markets
