In the absence of seasoned players like Smriti Mehra, Sharmila Nicollet and Neha Tripathi, the young guns of Indian women's golf made sure that there was no dearth of quality.
The likes of Shweta Galande, Vasishavi Sinha and Saaniya Sharma ensured good scores on an overcast day.
Shweta carded four birdies on the first, second, fifth and 18th holes and had bogeys on the seventh, 13th and 15th holes to finish round one with an impressive score of one under 71, tied at third position along with Vaishavi.

Saaniya Sharma also had a good outing today and carded six birdies, the most by any player today, to end round one at fifth place with a par score of 72.
However, she would be disappointed at conceding six bogeys. Nikki Ponappa is placed at sixth position with a score of two over 74 at the end of round one.
