: A Village Administrative Officer of Maruthampati was arrested here today by Vigilance and anti corruption sleuths for allegedly accepting Rs 1000 as bribe from a farmer for a favour.
Police said the farmer had approached the VAO Muniappasamy, to do a sub division for his well, when he demanded the amount.
The farmer then filed a complaint, following which vigilance officials laid a trap and nabbed him while he was receiving the money, they said.
