As part of the sanitation drive launched by his ministry, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan today visited Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital to review the hygiene conditions in the hospital.
Vardhan spent over an hour in the hospital during which he visited the emergency and cardiology department besides the Burns and Plastic Surgery unit.
He also visited the Central Park in the hospital and the green stretch in front of the nursing home and lauded the hospital's efforts to maintain a green cover.

"He also discussed the issue of filling up vacant posts of doctors, nurses and para-medical staff at the hospital and stressed on the use of solar energy," said RML Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr HK Kar.
Out of 280 posts of doctors, 80 posts are vacant at present. Out of the 800 posts for nurses, 200 are lying vacant and one third of the posts for para-medical staff are yet to be filled up.
Government recently has sanctioned Rs 3.6 crores for installation of Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) in the hospital.
