BJP MP from Sultanpur Varun Gandhi today visited Kheri and met the farmers, hit by inclement weather, and assured them all possible help.

Varun, after arriving here, visited the farmers of Matahiya, Nayapurwa, Khalepurwa, Naugavan and other villages of Pallia and Nighasan tehsils and assured them all possible help in his individual capacity.

"The motive behind this visit is not any kind of politics but to share your grief and grievances. I appeal everyone not to construe any political meaning in this visit," he said.

This was Varun's second visit to Kheri farmers in recent months. Earlier on June 28, Varun Gandhi had met kin of the farmers who had committed suicide and extended monetary help to each of the aggrieved family from his salary.

In Matahiya village, he met 95 flood-hit families and extended Rs 2,500 to each of them from his salary.

Later accompanied by Kheri MP Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni and Pallia nagar palika chairman KB Gupta, Varun Gandhi addressed a meeting of farmers.

Varun Gandhi later went to Nayapurwa and inspected the erosion caused by Sharda river. He also visited Naugavan.
