Union Minister and senior Congress leader G K Vasan today blamed the successive DMK and AIADMK Governments in Tamil Nadu for the acute power shortage in the state.

The successive governments in the state had failed to set up power projects adequately considering the increasing future requirements, he said campaigning for his party candidates in Coimbatore, Pollachi and Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituencies.

The Union Shipping Minister also blamed the Jayalalithaa Government for the skyrocketing land prices, by giving more importance to the real estate business than agriculture.

Vasan exuded confidence of his party capturing power at the Centre for the third time in the Lok Sabha polls.
