Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today said there was a vast scope of improvement in the law and order situation in the state and the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has started working on it.
"There is a lot of scope on the law and order front...The Chief Minister has started to tighten the screws (in this regard)," Naik, who attended the convocation ceremony of the Rohilkhand University here, said.
Naik had been critical of the law and order situation in the state and accused the government of failing to address the issue.
On the change of dress code during the convocation functions, the Governor said he was not against the British tradition but "the new dress is indicative of discipline and Indianness".
