Vazifdar sworn-in as Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High

Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar was today administered the oath of office as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Justice Vazifdar, who was the Acting Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, was administered the oath by Governor of Haryana and Punjab and Administrator Chandigarh UT, Kaptan Singh Solanki in a ceremony at Haryana Raj Bhavan today, an official release said.

Vazifdar, born on May 4, 1956 completed school education in 1972 from Rishi Valley School and graduated from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.

He did LL.B. From Hinduja Law College, Mumbai. He got enrolled as an advocate on the rolls of Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa on October 17, 1980.
 

He also appeared in the Supreme Court, various High Courts, Tribunals and District Courts.

Justice Vazifdar was sworn in as Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court on January 22, 2001.

He was appointed as a permanent Judge on January 21, 2003. He assumed charge as the Acting Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court on December 15, 2014 on transfer from the Bombay High Court.
