Sabujkali Sen, the senior most director of Visva Bharati, has assumed charge as its vice-chancellor today, the central university officials said.
Sen assumed charge following an order by the MHRD which was sent to officiating registrar Amit Hazra late last night.
Hazra resigned after communcating the order to Sen and resigned after handing over charge to joint registrar Sougata Chatterjee, the officials added
The former officiating vice-chancellor Swapan Kumar Dutta retired last week.
