The father of the student of Visva Bharati university, who was allegedly molested and sexually harassed by three fellow students, today demanded CBI probe into his daughter's harassment.

Demanding CBI probe into the alleged molestation, which took place in August end, the girl's father said, "I wanted to meet the chief minister as I don't have faith in the Visva Bharati authorities or any other agency except the CBI."

He, however, was not able to meet the chief minister as she was not in office.

Officials of the Chief Minister's Office handed over to him a cheque of Rs one lakh from CM's relief fund.

The man, who hails from Sikkim, broke down and told reporters, "I don't know what will happen to my daughter. I am worried about her security, academic life, and job prospect."

He said he had not been able to meet the chief minister in his earlier attempts.

The girl, a second year student, had lodged a complaint with the university authorities that three seniors of her department and an outsider had recorded some obscene pictures with their mobile phones and threatened to blackmail her with those. She later lodged a police complaint.

She had filed the complaint on August 28 and had left the campus with her father after meeting Vice-chancellor Susanta Dutta Gupta the next day.

A UGC team had conducted an inquiry into the incident.

The girl also quit Visva Bharati.

The three were later arrested and are now in judicial custody. The outsider is, however, yet to be arrested.
