Press Trust of India Kochi
: A special cell of Kerala Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau today questioned principal labour secretary Tom Jose in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

Jose was summoned to the office of the Vigilance special office here this morning for questioning.

In October 2015, the Vigilance had conducted searches at his residential premises in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in connection with the case.

Raids were also conducted at his wife's house in Irinjalakuda.

The vigilance initiated action against the official following registration of an FIR against him on a complaint filed in the Vigilance Special Court at nearby Muvattupuzha.

Jose had dubbed the searches as a 'deliberate attempt to humiliate" him.

Vigilance had decided to conduct a Confidential Verification into the charges raised by the complainant about various assets of Jose, including purchase of an estate at a cost of about Rs 1.23 crore at Sindudurg in Maharashtra.
